Some people FEAR scrapbooking. It sounds like a lot of work, or they aren't creative enough or don't have time. I guarantee you fit into one of these categories. Heck, even I do (no time), but I refuse to give in because I just enjoy it to much. I find it very relaxing. I also really enjoy the time I spend with my family sitting all together looking back on old memories. They love that they can pull out a book at any time!

Had a really fun gathering today! My hostess chose to make her theme a tea party! We kept the theme through out. What made this party really fun was that my hostess created her own gorgeous decor for the party, I love that kind of enthusiasm! She gave away samples of tea from her travels and I had the guests create a cute little holder for their new tea.

Card Swap results are in!

Sorry for the delay in our card swap activities. Summer brings on more things to do and we all get a little behind. Here are the results from the most recent swap. The ladies were given a challenge of incorporating vellum into their artwork and the theme was “congrats”. I think they all did an amazing job!

So the next swap I was looking at the weekend of August 19, it can be evening morning or day. Please let me know when you RSVP that you would like to participate which dates work best and what times. The next theme will be a card you send to someone “just because”. Maybe you were thinking of them or you wanted to cheer them up. How nice would it be to receive a card that wasn’t on a holiday? My challenge to you is to use the random stamping technique. RSVP deadline for this event is 7-24-16.

I am back from convention!!!

Hello! Hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far. I am back from convention and wow! I learned a lot and am very excited about what is coming down the road. Some great and new amazing products plus some enhancements. I just know you will love them.

One piece of news I can share with you are the retiring colors....yep...some are going away and new are coming. The retiring colors are: Gypsy, Topiary, Pear, Honey, Sunset, Cotton Candy, and Hollyhock So, if you have any items in those color schemes that you love then scoop them up while supplies last.

July is quickly approaching so I will share with you the campaign and stamp of the month:

Still playing with the same Happy Times paper pack. There are so many ways to use the paper it is even hard to decide which side. I recommend purchasing or earning more than one pack if you can, while supplies last!

Playing with Vellum

Sometimes we forget about some old goodies we have sitting around collecting dust. At one point I really liked using vellum but then wasn't good at hiding the sticky that would show through. Well recently on an inspiration site, I came across an idea that used vellum. What I did was emboss with silver on some vellum, cut the image out, and flip it over and color it. It was so much fun to do and embossing on vellum is really very pretty.

One of the best parts of being a consultant is the fact that I get to see and order products before they are available to the general public. In the next week I will be getting happy mail! It may have been a while since you have looked at all the paper packs in the current book. All of our paper is very versatile. Here I am using Zoe and some Ruby fundamentals.

I also used our Cricut cartridge Artfully Sent. See, that too is versatile and not only for card makers. I added some Ruby shimmer paper and a little base and bling rose (from our previous book, but a great way to use any left over bling you have).

And then you have your upline who are always encouraging and some offer some fun incentives for their teams too! Online training

Once you join CTMH you have access to the Company website. It is filled with lots of training videos and how to's. There are videos from top consultants sharing their success stories, as not everyone will handle their business the same way and not everyone has the same interests. There are lot of materials for inspiration and ideas, and how to create them utilizing the most of your supplies leaving a lot left over for more creating. There is a fun bulletin board to converse with consultants all over,  from sample artwork, to business tips, to even trading or selling products you have (or searching for something that maybe isn't sold anymore). There are  videos on how to use all the tools available to us consultants. You are never alone on this journey. And for the hobbyist point of view, there are many avenues for inspiration! And always fun things to see.

What else?

Can meetings and training classes be fun? Oh heck yeah they can. The best part? Early peeks at new products, getting your hands on the new stuff, and prizes! There are always drawings for free stuff. At the last convention I attended a brand new consultant won a free trip to Australia for  their convention. So it doesn't matter who or what level you are at, you have the same opportunity to win stuff. It is ultimately up to you though on what you do with the business end of things.

So let's talk a little but more about that. How can I earn income? Well, the first and foremost is to have dates booked for home gatherings or workshops. I call them workshops because some of your long term customers don't need any explanation on what CTMH sells or offers. What  is fun for them is to have some ladies get together and showcase new products and let them get their hands on the new products as well. Who wouldn't want to go to a friends house and sit back and chat and create something fun! Wouldn't you??

I am going to post daily fun facts the next week to prepare for what is coming next month. I am so excited what Close To My Heart has to offer that I want to be sure you do too!

First of all, Do you love crafting? Whether it be scrapbooking, card making, or making other fun paper crafts? What if you could do all of these (or the ones your prefer) and make money doing it? I don't think there is any job out there that lets you sit around and occasionally post online and hope you make a sale. But the cool thing about DOING something for this company is, you get to do what you love, crafts! Why wouldn't you want to sit around and play with all these cool products and share them with others? There is a place for everyone at CTMH, you just have to decide what you want and where you want to go with it.

And here is a cool tip. Starting April 1st you can join for $75 and get all your basic business tools you will need and that cool large organizer PLUS $50 to choose your own products! How cool is that. Previously you had to get the prepared kit and maybe you didn't need everything or maybe you didn't like a particular paper. Now you can pick what you want. If you are just a hobbyist this is a great way to get exactly what you want right away (and some of our new goodies early!) and  if you want to try to make a business, then you can pick what products inspire you most and are most exciting to you to want to share with others!

Seasonal Expression Launch Event

This morning was SO much FUN! I just love these little events CTMH puts on and I am also VERY excited about this next book coming out May 1st!  Starting April 1st (maybe a few days before) will be some very exciting news for both those who want to be a CTMH hobbyist or those who want to make money doing something they love! I can't wait to share those details. For now here are two sneak peeks at what I can share now : )

And for those that scrolled all the way to read this... let me just add this: If you have Disney vacation photos still not in albums or are about to take a trip to Disney, there are some AMAZING things coming in May that I have a feeling will just completely sell out. A little funny for the day

Yesterday I was in a panic that I forgot to get my Easter cards mailed out. Thankfully I had them made already. As I saw the mail carrier pass by my house I ran to get my cards, fill out the envelope and card inside, slap a stamp on it and then watch out the window for her to return on the opposite side of the street. I thought, gee, if I get these out today maybe they still have a chance to make it for Easter or maybe a day late. Then I needed to run errands and decided to take the cards with me in case I passed (my mail carrier). As I was driving down the street it occurred to me that hey!, I can put these in my friends mailbox (she lived down the street). So I called her and asked and then popped them in her mailbox. Later that night as my husband and I were going over some calendar events he told me that Easter was still a week away. I was like, no, it's this weekend. I looked at the calendar and sure enough....Easter was a week away. Phew! My cards will be on time. So thankful to have some made up ahead of time for when such drama pops around the corner : )
